SYNERGY coordinator Elvira Fortunato receives a €150,000 grant from the European Research Council

SYNERGY coordinator Elvira Fortunato receives a €150,000 grant from the European Research Council for her project “e-GREEN: From forest to electronics: green graphene”

“The e-GREEN project aims at the direct formation of graphene-based 3D patterns [supposedly the thinnest material in the world, formed by a two-dimensional layer of carbon atoms organized in hexagonal structures] for the formation of printed circuits on recyclable flexible substrates, avoiding the need to use scarce, non-ecological metallic materials in addition to costly processes, pollutants and delays”

Upcoming: SYNERGY Webinar ‘Can we be scientists without the rules?’

SYNERGY invites you to attend our upcoming webinar ‘Can we be scientists without the rules? Few words about practical, socio-economical, and ethical implications of good scientific practice’. The virtual event will be presented by Dr. Malgorzata Kopycinska-Müller, currently working at Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems. The webinar will be held on Thursday 24th February at 11:00 CET, aiming to show that the rules of good scientific practice have an impact beyond the scientific community.

There are no specific participation requirements to join, however registration prior to the event is compulsory. Register by clicking here.

SYNERGY- Opportunities for Secondments

In the frame of SYNERGY project, several opportunities for secondments are being promoted in four renowned European Research Institutes, Fraunhofer-Institut für KeramischeTechnologien und Systeme IKTS, POLITO – Politecnico di Torino, Tyndall National Institute – University College Cork, and VTT-Technical Research Centre of Finland.

Each Institute is proposing different themes, directed at Masters Students, PhD Students and Post-Doc Students in Materials Sciences and Engineering, Micro- and Nanotechnologies, Energy Systems and Green Energy Power Control.
