Trainer/Presenter
Professor João Pedro Oliveira (UNINOVA)
Some Topics that will be addressed during the course
● Technical aspects and challenges of the use of flexible foils in wireless mobile communication ● General architecture overview ● Details concerning the building blocks required for the wireless transceiver
Target Audience
Open for anyone who is interested in the use of flexible foils in wireless mobile communication
The use of flexible foils in wireless mobile communication has a significant innovative potential across a range of applications, from IoT to security and healthcare. This presentation will address some of the technical aspects and challenges associated with the development of such systems. Adopting a top-down approach and after a general architecture overview, some details concerning the building blocks required for the wireless transceiver will be addressed, within a context of efficient energy storage and usage.
This webinar will be held in the February 5th, by 14:00 GMT (15:00 CET) and will be hosted by Professor João Pedro Oliveira.
João Pedro Oliveira holds a M.Sc. (1996) and Ph.D (2010) degrees in Telecommunications and Microelectronics. He has accumulated over 28 years of professional experience in both industry and academia, specializing in IC design and telecommunications. Since 2003, he has been with the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NOVA-FCT and he is also a senior researcher at the Centre of Technology and Systems-CTS UNINOVA. His research interests primarily focus on mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design for low-power RF applications and low-power analog-front ends for IoT sensing nodes, employing innovative techniques like MOS parametric-based signal processing. He co-founded two companies for smart interactive interfaces and RF, respectively. The most recent one, Koala Tech, is a startup recognized as a NOVA Spin-Off, focused on highly energy efficient RF power amplifiers for 5G and 6G mobile networks, using a new and patented technology, the Quantized Digital Amplification (QDA). He has published in international journals, leading conferences, two books, and 4 patents. João Pedro Oliveira is an IEEE member since 1994 and currently serves as the chair of the Portuguese IEEE Solid State Circuits Society (SSCS) Chapter Chair.
